2018 Application Form and Course Guide

Located on the Eastern edge of Sutton Coldfield, with easy access from Sutton Town Centre, John Willmott School has a thriving Sixth Form. We offer Advanced GCE levels and a range of BTEC courses.

We pride ourselves in offering a challenging academic programme within a supportive and friendly environment. All students benefit from the expertise of staff within the school who provide individual support and guidance.

Student life in John Willmott Sixth Form involves so much more than academic and vocational study. As a student you will be joining a vibrant community, rich in opportunities for student participation.

In addition to achieving outstanding academic results, we hope that all Sixth Form students will accept the challenge of furthering their own personal development and have some fun on the way. The Sixth Form should enable students to develop qualities of enterprise, self-reliance, determination, diligence, perseverance, responsibility, empathy, tolerance and compassion, so that students leave us as young adults, able to contribute positively to society.

We expect all students to make a full commitment to the wider life of the Sixth Form community, participating in a variety of sporting, athletic, cultural and recreational activities; these will not only complement their studies, but provide a refreshing break from the demands of a challenging curriculum.

Sixth Form Ethos

  • All students are encouraged to actively contribute to the Sixth Form community
  • We expect every student to strive towards excellence in all that they do
  • We want to empower students to take responsibility for their own learning and personal development
  • We believe it is important to appreciate human achievements and aspirations
