Last week the Year 13 A-Level History students visited the University of Birmingham’s library. The purpose of the visit was for students to further their knowledge of the Tudor period which they are studying for their coursework and also to improve their understanding of what is required of them in their essays. They were fortunate enough to discover that a small yet informative Russian Revolution exhibition was also being held to commemorate the 100 years since the Revolution. As this topic is also a part of the A level syllabus the students were able to take advantage of the exhibition and study, amongst other items, posters produced at the time which aren’t normally available. An added bonus to a very worthwhile trip.
