Year 12 at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Thursday 1st March 2018

On World Book Day, Six A-level English students including myself visited Birmingham Children’s Hospital to read to the children in the outpatients department, eye and heart ward. We found it to be a very rewarding experience as every child showed genuine enjoyment and engagement with the books we were reading, some even reading to us! I personally believe I have gained a lot of confidence from the experience and many others felt like they have benefitted from knowledge on how the wards and hospitals are run.
