The Sixth Form took part in a very enjoyable and interactive demonstration by Fay Yeng from Chartwells. This was organised by Anita Carter who manages our catering provision at John Willmott School.
Fay wanted to demonstrate healthy food that students can cook for their families or for when they become independent, living away at university. She started with banana pancakes and went onto houmous made with chick peas and sweet potato. The most popular dish which the students enjoyed eating was her flavoursome stir fry made with rice and another one with noodles.

I liked the enthusiasm that Fay brought with the cooking she did. All the cooking was with cheap and accessible ingredients so it seemed very helpful for when I need to prepare a quick and easy meal or for when I leave home. Also I liked the fact she was able to make food for people with intolerances as I find it hard myself to make quick, easy and affordable meals.
