6th Form Debating

We would like to congratulate Eleanor Monkman and Ismaeel Ali for competing in the annual debating competition which was hosted this year at Bishop Vesey School.

After having to cancel the original date due to the Beast from the East we enjoyed a warm Summer's evening listening to passionate debates prepared and presented by Sixth Form students from 8 schools.

Eleanor and Ismaeel had to prepare a debate proposing that the Government should tax all airplane flights and in the second unseen round they had to oppose capping the highest wage in any organisation to 20 times that of the lowest paid worker.

As competitors they both enjoyed a day at the House of Commons on Monday 9 July and witnessed the debates following on from two significant cabinet resignations!
