Sixth Form

The school has sent a business case to the Department for Education requesting the removal of the Sixth Form provision at John Willmott School.  We are awaiting confirmation of this decision.

In Sixth Form our job is to challenge and support our students to achieve academic success whilst developing their leadership, organisation, resilience, independence and communication skills. Our students are ambassadors and role models to the younger years and we expect them to model this each day in all that they undertake. We also want our Sixth Formers to be considerate and responsible members of a happy and thriving community.

We are very proud of our reputation as a supportive and caring community where students follow bespoke educational pathways that cover a wide range of courses; linear A level subjects are complemented by a selection of vocational qualifications. This allows for a range of future progression routes; creating more opportunities when students are selecting their higher education courses, apprenticeships and future employment.

As a widening participation school, we currently receive funding from Aim Higher which allows us to take part in a range of events linked to the transition from school to university, training or employment.
